Welcome to Upload.com

Upload.com is an online, self-service tool for software publishers to submit their products to the CBS Interactive software libraries. Submitting products via Upload.com allows you to promote software on a unparalleled CBSi distribution network that includes Download.com, VersionTracker.com, AT&T, EarthLink, and MSN.

Upload.com aims to provide you with the same great service as it did in its decade of existence as the main publisher portal for Download.com. Our primary goals are speedy submission and processing times and excellent customer service.

Main features of Upload.com


My Account


The "My Account" tab in your Upload.com account allows you to manage your personal account data, including login and password information.

My Company


The My Company tab allows you to store and edit all information regarding your company, including company name, support e-mail or Web site, and contact info. Some of the information on your My Company page will be surfaced on the CBSi network of Web sites.

My Products


The "My Products" tab lets you submit, modify, and manage all aspects of your software. In this section, you can view all of your current, pending, and past products. You will also add additional assets to products such as screenshots from this tab.

Help Center


The Help Center is a destination for publishers to find more information about all of the features Upload.com has to offer, including product submissions, frequently asked questions, and listing packages.

How to: Activate a publisher account


Existing software publishers: Logging in

Software publishers with existing accounts on Upload.com should simply click on the "E-mail address" field on the front page, then enter their e-mail addresses and passwords in the resultant pop-up window.

New users: Signing up

Software publisher without an existing accounts on Upload.com must first register for CNET accounts and then be approved as publishers. Click the "Sign up for an account" link located on the front page of Upload.com. In the resultant pop-up, you will be prompted to enter

  • A valid E-mail address - This address will be the main contact that Upload.com uses to communication with publishers
  • A unique username
  • A password.

After entering an e-mail address and selecting a username and password, confirm the password in the field below, agree to the CBS Interactive terms of use, and click "Join CNET."

After submitting the form, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address entered. Check your in-box for an e-mail from "CNET Publisher Services" with the subject "Confirm your registration." Click on the account confirmation link within the e-mail to confirm your account. Once your CNET account has been confirmed, you will then need to apply for a developer's account on Upload.com, as well as a company account to list the information for your developer profile.

How to: List your products


The Basics:

  1. Click the My Products tab
  2. Enter full product information
  3. Add screenshots and icons
  4. Submit product for processing

Screenshots and Icons


Upload.com lets you upload screenshots and icons to a new product submission or to an existing live product on the CBSi network.via the "Product Submission Form". This eliminates the need to perform these tasks separately, and allows you to make all submissions or modifications to a product in one step. We hope this provides you with a fast and efficient way to submit or modify your software quickly.

Your Company Profile


Your Developer Profile is an important section of Upload.com. Accessible via the My Company tab, this section of information lets you provide vital and basic information about your company (or companies) to both software users, and the CBSi staff. This information includes company history, instructions for contacting company, and links for finding support.
